New Half Zaftig Album Release Approaches! February 2, 2007 - Obviously the next Wonky Records release is the biggest one we’ve had for a very long time, the first full-length album by Shawn "Yogi" Farley’s band of the last four years, Half Zaftig. The new album is called Life Like Luster, and will feature 12 tracks recorded once again by engineer/co-producer Darin Di Pietro in Federal Way, Washington. This is the first full-length release of all-new material since Shawn released his acclaimed first solo album Any Raw Flesh? under the name Yogi in early 2001. "It’s been a very long time coming," says Farley, "but I can say categorically that Life Like Luster is by far the best thing I’ve ever been a part of."
The album consists of 11 new original songs and a cover of the classic Van Halen chestnut "In A Simple Rhyme." FIVE tracks from the album are currently streaming at Half Zaftig’s MySpace page. In addition the band is publishing a multi-part online video documentary of the making of the album at their official site, as well as at YouTube. Band members also kept meticulous diaries of their experiences while working on the new tracks at their online message forum.
